TE MANIA
A Bold Architectural Masterpiece with Custom Steel Detailing
This striking architectural retreat is nestled at the edge of a private lake, beneath the iconic Te Mata Peak. The living pavilion of the 700-square metre property is clad entirely in Corten steel, creating a bold, weathered aesthetic that integrates seamlessly with the natural landscape. In addition, the property features a Corten steel outdoor fireplace, further enhancing the cohesive design and providing a durable, rustic focal point for outdoor living.
Designed by renowned New Zealand architect Steven Lawson, the home seamlessly incorporates steel throughout its interior, further emphasising its industrial elegance. Architectural Facades Co. contributed to the project with bespoke steelwork, crafting walls, kitchen benchtops, a fire surround, and doors from blackened hot rolled steel. These custom steel elements not only add to the property’s modern aesthetic but also enhance its durability and distinctive character, making it a true masterpiece of contemporary design.
